Sweet baby Jesus!

the awesomesness that is the movie 300... SPOILERS AHOY )
spankerella: (little miss sunshine)
Oh how I adore this film.

spankerella: (imaginary men)
So I finally saw Boondock Saints tonight. Yes, yes, yes, I'd never seen it before despite the fact that everyone and their grandma's dog who'd seen it told me I'd love it something awful. StFU! I've seen it now, ok. Better late than never, right? Well, you guys were so right about me loving the sh*t out of that film, but that's not the point.

Point: I TOTALLY get some women's compulsion to have brothers. To HAVE brothers. Totally get it now. Couldn't choose. Shouldn't have to. Two. Connor and Murphy MacManus... damn. I mean, DAMN. Quite sexy. Quite sexy the both of them.

I need a scrappy Irishman in my bed. Yep. Or possibly two of them. Yep. I mean, hello, tattoos. They so had the tattoos! Tattoos are a great weakness of mine. The right man with the right tattoo can make my knees go weak. Especially if it happens to be on his pelvic bone. This is followed quite closely by side-of-the-neck tats.

But perhaps that was too much information? With the pelvic bone thing? Oh well. Boondock Saints... two thumbs way up. Will be buying soon so I can rewatch over and over and over and, oh, over again.

Went and watched Tristan and Isolde tonight. Not the happiest tale ever, but then I sorta knew that. I won't spoil you all with any details. If you're into tragic love stories, go see it. It's well done in that respect. Isolde was a bit of a slut bunny. I dug it. What I did not dig was the stupid bitch sitting in the row in front of Sarah and myself that kept taking out her cell phone to text message. Her phone had the brightest screen EVER. It distracted me every time she did it... so... I kicked the back of her chair. Hard. She didn't fool with her damn phone after that. I seriously have no patience for people that can't behave at the movies. If you can't go a mere 2 hours without your cell phone or checking your messages, something is wrong with you. You need to rent movies and watch them in the privacy of your own home instead then.

Not sure how I felt about this. I am going to have to see it again to form a solid opinion.

eta: Liking Sherrilyn Kenyon. Read what I am calling the set-up novel "Fantasy Lover" last night because I couldn't sleep and I didn't feel like typing anymore. Starting "Night Pleasures" today before I go to work. My first Dark-Hunter novel. *sigh* [ profile] tthjinni, if there are more, I'll be needing them. LOL. Already hooked.

jarhead cash

Found out last night we're getting Jarhead and Walk the Line both of which I am interested in seeing. Still don't know about getting Harry Potter. Dammit. Then again, our booker said no theatres knew about HP yet, so it's not just us.

It was a pretty good day... considering how it all started. I am about to watch Lost then go to bed. Yes, I am home fairly late for even me. Wanna guess why?

I love Joss. He's so my hero. We're still watching it on Saturday, people. It's my birthday gathering, and I feel like more Joss. I should take everyone I know separately like I tend to do with the HP films.

spoilers ahoy!!! )
spankerella: (pride)
You know what bothers me? People who are asking for favors and are vague. Be specific if you are asking something of me. I'm more likely to say yes if you don't annoy me straight off. Unless you're asking something that I won't do... something you'd be aware of if you'd bother to read. And yes, very hypocritcal of me to be vague here, but I do not want the person I am referring to to know this bitching is about them.

Now, on to more interesting matters. I was very irritated when I learned that they were doing yet another Pride and Prejudice with Keira Knightley as Elizabeth Bennet. I didn't think she was strong enough. I stand corrected after seeing the preview... many times last night and today at work. She could do this justice from what I have seen. Though she's still too skinny of a twig. What I was worried about... a lot... also was that NO ONE could be Darcy but Colin Firth. No one, but Matthew MacFadyen has something. Something swoon-worthy. He's no Colin Firth, certainly, because no one could be Colin Firth save Colin Firth. Ask Bridget Jones about that one. LOL. There are a few looks, certain inflections in tone, in that preview that are pure Darcy. MacFadyen has gained the trust. I am sad to report that Apple Trailers does not have a preview available for online viewing. Yahoo Movies supposedly does, but I could never get the link to work for me, and when I provide a link, I do like to check that it is not faulty. Though you can see him giving a bit of a caress to KK in my new icon. His slight mutton-chop sideburns are sorta sexy.

cut for possible spoilery information... and some Bat-mask related perversion )

Need a Batman icon now. New SW icons, including the Han/Leia OTP courtesy of [ profile] houses7177 can be found at [ profile] deadlyduo. How sad is it that Star Wars icons and a Batman viewing can cheer me up?

I just got home from work. Screened Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Excellent film. It was so right up my alley... a love story where the lovers try to kill each other and blow a lot of sh*t up in the process. There's some serious love/hate going on there, and we all know that's my fave kind of romance. But I won't say any more so not to spoil. It's good. Go see it. It's worth it, in my opinion.

I have to work tomorrow. *looks at the time* Or later today actually, but I did want to get some more rewrites done before I crash, so... starting chapter 25 now, 317 pages down. I am almost there. The page numbers have been fluctuating due to things being added and things being cut, but there are only 28 chapters in the book. Getting there. When I am finished, I will let it set for a few days. Then I will give it a last read-over. Then it is going back to Jenn at ComStar. I'm a little proud of myself right now. I've come a very long way in just ten days.

eta: Have not laughed that hard at Brad Pitt since True Romance and the bear bong.

A few things...

I can't pay my bills because my job has dramatically cut my hours. Yipee! *insert sarcasm* I love my life. My life is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO great. I'm killing myself doing housework and running errands on my off time. I don't get any hours at work. I have no money. I need to go to the doctor. *sigh* Somebody drown me please. End my misery. What good is being talented when I am yet to a stage where I get paid for it? I think I'm going to have a major meltdown soon. I can feel it coming on. On the upside, Hitchhiker's Guide ROCKS! Got to screen it tonight. Added bonus of the Serenity trailer and the new Batman being on there. The movie's worth it for the opening song. Now I have to read the book. You know, when I actually have money to buy a book again. Anyone know where I can sell a kidney or something? The writing is about to become WAY less because I need another job.

Can I get a do-over here? I think I need to go back in my life a fix a few things. Screw it. I'm going to sleep. Maybe I'll wake up in another dimension. *crosses fingers sarcastically*

Several things today.

Bit of a scare that resulted in a doctor visit this morning, but all is fine now. Mom's resting. She now has plenty of Vicodin to squash any further pain uprisings.

So with her resting pretty in druggy sleepland, I FINALLY got to go to the movies... to watch... wait for it... Sin City. That is one damn beautiful piece of art there. I *LOVED* it. A lot. Like more than I even thought I would. I have never seen something as flat as a book or graphic novel come so alive on the screen. It was gorgeous. Every cut and shot had so much style to it. It was like seeing something two dimensional suddenly spring to life. I am still in awe.

And I want to have Clive Owens' children.

Oh, and please note the new icon. I found a piccie of Sawyer in his glasses. Squee!

Just got back from screening Constantine at work.

Holy sh*t!

I just now figured out where I have seen Sayid on Lost before. Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love. If you haven't seen this movie and you're a Naveen Andrews fan, go now. Rent. Buy even. Despite the implication made by the title, it's not solely about sex. Sex DOES have a lot to do with the plot of the film, but it has other themes too. I guess what I am trying to say is the movie is not explicit. They do it a bit more artistically (no pun intended). It's got some style about it.

spankerella: (napoleon gosh)
I believe in the curing power of Napoleon Dynamite's dancing. Moods were lightened after I got home from work due to Napoleon. If you have not seen the movie Napoleon Dynamite, get on it... GOSH!
