*~*~*
Katie awoke slowly. Day was in its beginnings. A slow glow of light was coming from the windows. Windows Marcus was standing in front of without a stitch of clothing on. Katie rolled onto her side, propped her head on her hand and just stared at his rather lovely backside. Her body ached in places she did not know she could ache. In a good way though. He was rough with her when she wanted him to be and gentle when she needed him to be... all without her even having to voice it. Their bodies complimented each other perfectly. As ill-suited as they might seem personality-wise, their bodies suited sexually. It made the rest fall into place. It might have also been that they balanced one another out outside of the bedroom. Who knew? All Katie could think on now was how he'd made her body sing. how he could repeatedly do so. How she had the same effect on him.
He was safely back in Azkaban now, but should Higgs manage to escape and come after Katie once again, it couldn't be because she was still a virgin. Marcus made damned sure of that just about every night. And sometimes in the day, and sometimes in the mornings, and sometimes at lunch, and sometimes right after supper as dessert.
"Are you admiring my bum?"
"I was." Katie admitted.
Marcus turned and folded his arms across his chest. He glared at her in a way that suggested she was being inappropriate and unladylike.
"That stance has less the effect you desire with you being all naked and sexy." Her eyes involuntarily moved to a certain part of him. "And someone's happy to see me this morning. And getting happier by the moment."
"I'm always happy to see you in my bed. Also, that sultry tone you have this morning stirs my blood."
"I suppose you'll want me to take care of that then? Your stirred blood, that is. I'm very tired today. I had a long night, you know."
Marcus shook his head no. "You don't have to do a blessed thing save lie there and make those little noises you make when I'm inside you. If you're tired, luv, I'll do all the work."
Katie shivered. And not with cold. "I'd like to participate if you don't mind."
"I don't mind."
"Well, come back to be then, and quit standing there teasing me. And you best hurry."
"There is no hurry with you. I like to savor, you know."
"I know, but there's that thing today. We can't spend all day in bed today. We've that thing. Remember... the thing? Surely you haven't forgotten the thing."
Marcus scowled. "How could I forget the thing."
"Oh don't scowl." Katie teased. "That's dreadfully sexy. It'll be over before it starts if you keep scowling."
He smirked.
"Oh that's even sexier. If I were wearing knickers, they'd have melted off at that."
"Sweet Salazar, Bell, you naughty little minx. I believe I've had a wicked effect on you."
She flipped up the sheet covering her naked form, giving him a glimpse of what was so eagerly awaiting him in the bed. "I believe you may be right there, Flint." She flipped the sheet up again.
Marcus blinked and shook his head. What a wicked little thing he was privileged to have here.
"Hang in all, Marcus, how many times do I have to flip this freaking sheet up before you get in here with me? You're already hard as stone there. How many figurative 'come and get it's do you require?"
"You're on the right way to a smacked bottom there, missy."
"I've only recently stopped being a virgin. I don't think I'm ready for spankings or bondage or anything remotely kinky just yet. Doesn't mean we can't discuss it later though. You know, after you've shagged me again." She punctuated that by flipping up the sheet yet again.
Marcus groaned and practically pounced on the bed.
*~*~*
Ginny Weasley rubbed her eyes tiredly. Her shift was finally over, and it had been a hellish night at St. Mungo's. She rounded the corner and nearly barreled into someone.
"I'm so terribly... Draco?"
"You're so terribly Draco? Going to start wearing a fair amount of hair gel, start behaving like a horse's arse, and calling people mudbloods? Fantastic, I've always wanted my own clone. Or a twin. Though if I had a twin would he be the evil one or would I? Hmmm, that's certainly food for thought, ay?"
She glared, ignoring that last bit entirely. "Draco, what are you doing here?"
"I brought you this." He held up a book.
Ginny squealed loudly. "Modern Witch Medicine!" She snatched the book from his hands and hugged it to her chest. Then she hugged Draco. She hopped up and down excitedly for ten seconds then she finished all of this by kissing his cheek. "You're brilliant. Wherever did you find it? I've been trying to find it for ages."
"I know." He said quietly, staring at her intently and loving the way she was lovingly caressing the book in her hands.
She flipped through the pages briefly. "Thank you."
"Want to pop in to the lounge and let me buy you some tea?"
"They aren't open this early."
"Then want to come with me back to our place for a bit? I'll make you some tea."
"I'm really very tired."
"Your bed's still there. You could rest if you like."
"That's not my bed. It's your guest bed."
"Well, you're the only guest I've ever had. Anyone else I'd ever have over already has a bed there. It's your bed, all right. I'll likely never have another visitor."
Ginny gave his arm a pat. "Thank you for the book. I'll see you at the thing tonight."
"That's tonight?"
She made a face at him. "As if you've forgotten." Ginny then brushed past him to leave.
"You don't make this easy on a bloke, do you?"
She looked at him with hooded eyes over her shoulder. "Should I?"
Now that was a look to freeze a bloke in his tracks. She did that all too well. Especially if you knew her a bit and knew how fabulous she was.
Draco almost forgot to breathe. "Hell no. I can handle a challenge."
"Excellent. I'll see you at Flint's later then. Don't forget you promised me you'd be civil to Ron and Hermione."
"You're going to hold me to that then?"
"You bet your sweet yet pasty arse I am, Draco Malfoy."
He smirked at her. "You're less freckled than usual today. You using a new cream or something?"
"Piss off."
"I'm serious." He said as he hurried after her.
"What are you doing?"
"Walking you out of the building. That all right with you?"
Ginny shrugged. "Suit yourself."
"As I was saying, you're far less freckled these days."
"Bite your tongue, Malfoy."
He pouted playfully. "Could you do it for me? You know how lazy I am."
"You know, you do a girlie pout very well. You sure Slytherin Prince is the appropriate nickname for you?"
"If you'd ever go out on a real date with me, we could end the evening with my showing you the parts that make me princely."
Ginny snorted loudly. "Dinner then a penis viewing? My, my, how do the girls resist you, Malfoy?"
"Fear."
"Fear? Care to elaborate on that?"
"Well, seeing as how my ancestral home has a dark lord stain on one of the rugs and considering my parents are both cooling their heels in Azkaban, that provokes a bit of fear. I think you're the only woman who isn't already dating or shagging one of my best mates, or one of said best mates herself, and who isn't afraid of me. A rare thing indeed."
"I think it's that you're too prissy, not that you inspire fear."
"And I think your freckles are showing again."
Ginny laughed. The two of them walked off indulging in playful banter the entire way.
*~*~*
"Where in the hell do you think you're going?"
Luna froze. She only had on her shirt and knickers. She'd been reaching for her skirt. Luna stood slowly and turned to face Blaise, who was still in bed. "I have to go home."
He sat up, letting the sheet fall to his waist baring that lovely chest of his that she liked so much. Unfair that.
"Excuse me?" He snapped.
"Oh don't have a fit about it. I'll be back. Colin's just been a bit... worried about how much time I spend out of the flat. I figured I ought to make an appearance."
"Sod Creevy. You get back in this bed."
She bristled and raised one brow.
"Please?"
"Blaise, I spend more time here than I do at my flat." She replied as she moved about the room picking up the rest of her clothing. "Colin's my roommate, and he never sees me. Besides, I'll be back over tonight. I think you can do without me for just a few hours, don't you?"
"I don't want to have to do without you for a few hours. I don't want you to go."
"Blaise, I feel like I'm being pulled two ways here. This isn't my place. I reside at a place I don't live at. I need to spend a bit of time at home. All my things are there. Well, almost all of them."
"Well, I do believe I need you here. I love you, dammit all, and perhaps you ought to just move in here then."
Luna dropped one of her shoes when she spun around to face him. "What?"
"Stay. Move in here."
"No... what was it you said just before that?"
Blaise considered. Then his eyes widened.
"Did you mean it? Did that just slip out, or did you mean to say it?"
He looked at her. "I meant every word."
"Oh dear. Poor Colin."
"Sod Colin effing Creevy!"
"You know you can be such a petulant little child when you don't get your way. Sometimes I don't like that about you."
"Luna..."
She dropped her gathered clothing and walked to the bed. Luna sat on the edge of it. She rested her hand on his blanket-covered thigh. She gave his leg a reassuring pat. "Poor Colin... because he's just going to have to do without me and find himself another flatmate when I move in with you."
Blaise grinned widely.
"Don't look so smug. This is still Marcus's house. You'll be the one to broach this subject with him, and until you do, I still live with Colin." Luna quipped as she got up off of the bed.
"Luna..."
"No Blaise, it can't always be your way only. You're just going to have to learn to compromise. I am not like you, you know."
"I didn't-"
"You don't have to say. You're a Slytherin. It's implied with you lot. You think I haven't spent all this time so far around you and your friends and not have figured you out a bit?"
"Luna-"
"I wouldn't change it about you. Not any of you. Never. As you love me, I do believe I love you. You just need to know you will not always get your way. Now, I'll see you tonight." With that, she snatched her remaining clothing back up and apparated out.
Blaise howled in frustration and punched his pillow. She could put him on edge so easily... but in a good way. He just couldn't believe she'd admitted to loving him then apparated away.
*~*~*
They had used the large dining table that Marcus had not even remembered he had. Katie had found it though. They'd needed too. It was a full house for dinner tonight. Most of the Weasley family, Hermione Granger, Tonks, Kingsley, Rosmerta, Remus Lupin, Severus Snape, Luna, Katie, Harry, and the Slytherin four, of course.
Marcus stood. "A toast."
"Oh bloody hell." Draco muttered.
Pansy kicked him.
"To Harry. Merlin help you if you're really planning on marrying our Pans."
The other Slytherins nearly echoed him, but Katie interrupted. The mostly non-Slytherin at the table were looking a bit uncomfortable and unsure.
Katie made a disgusted noise. "You can that a toast?" She stood up and raised her glass. "Ignore that, everyone." She cleared her throat. "It did not start out conventional. Pansy kissed him for subterfuge. She made a plan to continue kissing him, and then, quite unexpectedly, Harry started to like it."
Ron Weasley snorted. Hermione elbowed him.
"Quite a few times he angered Pansy by trying to protect her.... for Pansy is a Slytherin, and they suspect they need no protecting. Only they do, these Slytherins we know, especially their hearts, and I can think of no one better to guard Pansy's heart than Harry. I, and I'm sure many of you at this table, can vouch for the fact that Harry guards his friends very passionately, so it would stand to reason that he would guard his heart's mate with even more passion. The both of them were in this to help protect me, and unexpectedly found one another in the midst of it, as many of us have unexpectedly found things in this mess that was to be my protective detail, discovered new sides, made new friends, started new relationships." She looked at Marcus then. "So here is to pleasant surprises. To new beginnings. To findings and discoveries. May the unexpected always be with the both of you, and may it always bring you joy. To Harry and Pansy, pleasantly unexpected." She raised her glass high.
Everyone else stood and raised their glasses as well. "Harry and Pansy, pleasantly unexpected."
