... hit me , baby, one more time

Last one today. Swear.

Here's how it plays... There are 12 movie quotes from 12 different flicks. See if you can guess them. First come, first served. The ones in bold are still un-guessed, but checking the comments to make sure someone hasn't beat you to it isn't a bad idea either.

Please limit yourself to THREE guesses only, unless otherwise specified. Let's give others a chance.

*

Game on....

1) "We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it."

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Yay, [livejournal.com profile] houses7177. Another childhood fave. "Pure Imagination" is one of my all-time favorite songs. I love Wonka's turn of the phrase in this film.

*

2) "Hey, maybe you haven't been keeping up on current events, but we just got our asses kicked pal!"

Aliens. Yay, [livejournal.com profile] mtlwritermom. Said by Hudson. I like the Alien movies. I like this one best. Hell, I named my cat Newt after the little girl.

*

3) "You're just jealous, because I'm a genuine freak and you have to wear a mask!"

Batman Returns. Yay, [livejournal.com profile] mtlwritermom. It WAS said by Penguin to Batman. I love Michael Keaton's Batman. He was so great. I liked all the Batman/Catwoman business in this one.

*

4) "Negative, I am a meat popsicle."

The Fifth Element. Yay, [livejournal.com profile] fireicefaerie. Said by Korben Dallas (Bruce Willis). I adore this movie. It's got Oldman in it. I think Leeloo is a great character, and though he got on a lot of people's nerves in the film, I *LOVED* Chris Tucker's Ruby Rhod.

*

5) "When are men going to learn that women want romance, not Mr. Toad's Wild Ride."
"Be fair, alright, everyone wants Mr. Toad's Wild Ride."

Mallrats. I'm glad an anonymous person was so gung ho about guessing they forgot to leave a name. That's slightly irritating. Announce yourselves, anons. Jebus! Anyhow... Kevin Smith fan ahoy. The man's got a knack for dialogue. This bit is between Tricia and Brodie. And it's true. For me anyhow. I do want romance, but my idea of romance isn't the standard. I much prefer Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. From there we can move to hearts and flowers. LOL.

*

6) "Fuck me gently with a chainsaw."

Heathers. Yay, [livejournal.com profile] houses7177. One of the greatest lines utilizing the F word of all time.

*

7) "God hates me. That's what it is."
"Hate him back. It works for me."

Lethal Weapon. Yay, [livejournal.com profile] chancecraz101. I like Mel Gibson. I love the Lethal Weapon movies. Murtaugh and Riggs are one of the best and snarkiest cop teams in cinema.

*

8) "Kiss my Converse."

The Last Dragon. Yay, [livejournal.com profile] oracleholly. Said by Sho'nuff. Oh, this movie is SO 80s. So very 80s.

*

9) "Yeah, but John, if the Pirates of the Caribbean breaks down, the pirates don't eat the tourists."

Jurassic Park. Yay, [livejournal.com profile] houses7177. Said by Ian. I just think it's funny. I always get a mental image of a group of pirates going cannibal. I know. I'm a sick, sick individual.

*

10) "I've seen the future. You know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin, sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing 'I'm an Oscar Meyer wiener'."

Demolition Man. Yay, [livejournal.com profile] houses7177. Said by Edgar Friendly (Dennis Leary). He said wiener. *snicker* This movie's funny for a lot of different reasons, but I like this quote because if the future was like that, I'd probably live in the sewer with Dennis Leary too. I like my sarcasm and ranty bitch attitude too much. Plus, I'd give the old swear machine a short-out. It would be fining me A LOT of credits for abusing the verbal morality code.

*

11) "Good morning my neighbors!"
"Hey, fuck you!"
"Yes, yes! Fuck you too!"

Coming to America. Yay, [livejournal.com profile] of_caladan. I like Eddie Murphy. Always have. His standup is some of the funniest around. No matter how many times I've seen his stuff, he gets a laugh out of me. The cheerfulness of him in this scene always makes me giggle. He's so happy about being told 'fuck you'.

*

12) "In my pocket there's a whole thing of Tic-Tacs. Take as many as you like, please."

The Golden Child. Yay, [livejournal.com profile] mtlwritermom. Eddie Murphy again. He says this to the little oriental man when he's getting the knife. There's so many little one-liners in this one. I mean, the knife rap... the frozen boogers... the scene he makes in the airport.

*~*~*

eta: I think I need to do an all HP movies version and an all LotR trilogy version. LOL.

1. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

Crap. Sorry, Just saw the bit about three guesses only. I deleted my other comments. Forgive me for the 4?

[identity profile] spankerella.livejournal.com 2005-01-18 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
*cackling*

I definitely need to make this a bit more difficult. You took out half this list (with the undeleted posts counted) within five minutes of my posting it.

[identity profile] spankerella.livejournal.com 2005-01-18 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh... by the way, all of your posted guesses were correct.

[identity profile] houses7177.livejournal.com 2005-01-18 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)
[beams]

Sorry about that. I thought about deleting that comment and starting over, but I couldnt' gather the energy. I'm not sure that these were easier than most, but they happened to all be movies I've watched in the last few weeks. That helps, of course. I can't do these things normally- it's very sad. Just did another one of these myself, if you want a guess.

[identity profile] spankerella.livejournal.com 2005-01-18 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't even fret. It's just a game. It's strangely theraputic for me.

[identity profile] mhalachai.livejournal.com 2005-01-18 09:01 pm (UTC)(link)
1. is from Willy Wonka and the Charlie Factory, if I remember correctly.

[identity profile] spankerella.livejournal.com 2005-01-18 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
It is. But someone beat you to the guess.

I love this game!

[identity profile] fireicefaerie.livejournal.com 2005-01-18 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)
No. 4 is from the Fifth Element

Re: I love this game!

[identity profile] spankerella.livejournal.com 2005-01-18 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
It is.

[identity profile] chancecraz101.livejournal.com 2005-01-18 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Seven is from the first Lethal Weapon movie

[identity profile] spankerella.livejournal.com 2005-01-18 09:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes it is! An excellent shoot and blow things up film.

[identity profile] of-caladan.livejournal.com 2005-01-18 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
4 is the fifth element, (mom's fav)
11 is coming to america

[identity profile] of-caladan.livejournal.com 2005-01-18 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
the fifth element, my mom has watched at least 500 hundred times, she's an insomniac, and for some reason, it makes her sleep, thus the echolalia

[identity profile] of-caladan.livejournal.com 2005-01-18 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
and yes, i meant 500 hundred

[identity profile] spankerella.livejournal.com 2005-01-18 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Pfft! We won't even go into how many times I've seen Empire Strikes Back. That's a REAL scary number with lots of digits.

[identity profile] spankerella.livejournal.com 2005-01-18 09:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Someone beat you to the punch on #4, but yes, #11 is Coming to America.

[identity profile] of-caladan.livejournal.com 2005-01-18 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
i liked the intercoms at the breakfast table, and the quote
"I tied my own shoes once, and it was an entirely overrated expirience"

[identity profile] spankerella.livejournal.com 2005-01-18 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"Sexual chocolate!"

MALLRATS!!!

Re: #5

[identity profile] spankerella.livejournal.com 2005-01-18 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Er, yeah. Thanks for not leaving a name though. :(

[identity profile] mtlwritermom.livejournal.com 2005-01-18 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Oooh, I'm sort of happy about the three guesses rule, 'cause that's all I think I know anyway. But I could know more, you just wouldn't know if I do or don't.... Except if I tell you.

I think 2 is Aliens.

3 is Batman (Returns?) The Penguin says this, no?

And 12 is the Golden Child. I was a child when I saw this and I'm still uneasy about this. but I do (still) like Eddie Murphy.

Cheers!

[identity profile] spankerella.livejournal.com 2005-01-18 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
All three of your guesses are correct.

[identity profile] oracleholly.livejournal.com 2005-01-18 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I believe #8 is from The Last Dragon -- Remember "Now, when I say, 'Who's da mastah?' you say, "Sho'nuff!" --- you must obtain the glow man!

[identity profile] spankerella.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 11:18 am (UTC)(link)
It is. I didn't think anyone was going to get that one. You don't have to remind me of the movie though... I've seen it.
