For those of you wondering and asking what was up with tthjinni, here's the scoop:

She got bit on the leg by a spider. They now suspect it was a brown recluse. She's all right, but in a lot of pain. She can't really sit up and is not supposed to put pressure on her leg, so I'll keep anyone posted on how she's doing. She isn't ignoring anyone. She's just dealing with RL. Please send good thoughts and healing her way. Leave any messages here. I'll pass them on. :)

She should be fine. Brown Recluse venom is a local deal. It spreads through the tissues adjacent to the bite and hurts like a sonofabiscuit.

She'll have a gnarly scar when it heals up, but won't otherwise be worse for wear

Thanks for the info! There was a big deal in my hometown a while back about a baby that was killed by one of those, but obviously babies are more vulnerable. It's good to know that she'll be okay. =]

Eep! That is not good! :( Please tell her that I'm thinking about her and sending good vibes her way. I had a friend in high school that got bit in the leg by a brown recluse. She was in the hospital for awhile, but she's as good as new now!

Let me know if there is anything that I can do.

At least her leg won't fall off. She'll have a pretty gnarly scar, though. She can tell people that's where she got shot in that gang war. :D

Wow, thanks for letting us know. I got bit 2x a couple years ago and had an allergic reaction. I can certainly empathize. Hope she gets a lot of rest and stays off that leg - follow Dr's orders!

Sending hugs and empathy vibes (no spider bites here but shingles really sucks too)... I've prescribed myself laptop and lots of tvlinks reruns of fave tv shows. Oh and party ring biscuits cause its the only way i can make myself take tables!)
