Pride and Prejudice... both in life and literature

You know what bothers me? People who are asking for favors and are vague. Be specific if you are asking something of me. I'm more likely to say yes if you don't annoy me straight off. Unless you're asking something that I won't do... something you'd be aware of if you'd bother to read. And yes, very hypocritcal of me to be vague here, but I do not want the person I am referring to to know this bitching is about them.

Now, on to more interesting matters. I was very irritated when I learned that they were doing yet another Pride and Prejudice with Keira Knightley as Elizabeth Bennet. I didn't think she was strong enough. I stand corrected after seeing the preview... many times last night and today at work. She could do this justice from what I have seen. Though she's still too skinny of a twig. What I was worried about... a lot... also was that NO ONE could be Darcy but Colin Firth. No one, but Matthew MacFadyen has something. Something swoon-worthy. He's no Colin Firth, certainly, because no one could be Colin Firth save Colin Firth. Ask Bridget Jones about that one. LOL. There are a few looks, certain inflections in tone, in that preview that are pure Darcy. MacFadyen has gained the trust. I am sad to report that Apple Trailers does not have a preview available for online viewing. Yahoo Movies supposedly does, but I could never get the link to work for me, and when I provide a link, I do like to check that it is not faulty. Though you can see him giving a bit of a caress to KK in my new icon. His slight mutton-chop sideburns are sorta sexy.
