I am going to watch that new show Point Pleasant. I'll see where this one stands after the hour is up.

Here's how it plays... There are 12 movie quotes from 12 different flicks. See if you can guess them. First come, first served. The ones in bold are still un-guessed, but checking the comments to make sure someone hasn't beat you to it isn't a bad idea either.

Please limit yourself to THREE guesses only, unless otherwise specified. Let's give others a chance, ay? Three shall be the number of the guesses and the number of the guesses shall be three.

*

Game on....

1) "You have style no one can teach. Must be born this way."

Joy Luck Club.Yay, [livejournal.com profile] archerstar. I like this movie. It makes me cry at the end every time. I am very familiar with mothers and daughters who just can't seem to bridge some of the gaps between them. Suyuan says this to her daughter June.

*

2) "I'm here to try out my sea legs."

Forrest Gump. Yay, [livejournal.com profile] archerstar. "But Lt. Dan, you ain't got no legs." I love Forrest. He's so fresh and brand new about everything. I love that. I love when every day is a discovery. It's so hard to have that in this day and age. Said by Lt. Dan.

*

3) "Yeah. It's still in the sink, if you want to glue it."

Empire Records. Yay, [livejournal.com profile] evilgreenmonkey. This is a quirky little fun flick that has some people who went on to do much bigger things later. This line was said by Deb in response to AJ noticing she shaved her hair off. Completely.

*

4) "Sticking feathers up your butt does not make you a chicken."

Fight Club. Yay, [livejournal.com profile] kiramarie. One of many Tyler-isms that just crack me up. This movie just gets inside your head. I think it shows the dangers of going too far with anti-establishment-ism. I don't agree with Ferris Bueller. I think one CAN go to far in certain situations.

*

5) "They don't have meetings about rainbows."

The Sixth Sense. Yay, [livejournal.com profile] archerstar. My fave M. Night film. Cole said this to Malcolm when they were talking about him drawing and what he used to draw as opposed to what he draws now.

*

6) "You told me it was a matter of life or death."
"A woman always is."

Ever After. Yay, [livejournal.com profile] smokeline. Prince Henry talking to DaVinci. I like this bit because it was about the Mona Lisa. LOL. And DaVinci is so adorable in this movie. Plus, I love fairy tales. I especially love different takes on fairy tales.

*

7) "If I give you another face-lift, you are going to be able to blink your lips."

The First Wives Club. Yay, [livejournal.com profile] australian_imp. Oh, this is such a good film. I just adore it. It's sad. It's funny. It's poignant. It's entertaining. Plus, I love Goldie Hawn. Always have. Said by Elise's doctor (Ron Reiner AKA Meathead).

*

8) "When we are through here, can we teach it how to breathe with its mouth closed?"

The Cutting Edge. Yay, [livejournal.com profile] starry_sunrise. I love ice skating movies. I like ice skating. To watch, not to participate in. I'm a horrible ice skater. But I also like this cheesy little flick because it employs my fave cliché the love/hate relationship. I love it when two people snark at one another because they have the hots for one another and are just too much in denial to know it. Said by Kate.

*

9) "Truth is appearance, but appearance isn't always truth."

Sleepy Hollow. Yay, [livejournal.com profile] crystalcbs. It is too true. Things are not always what they seem. Said by Icabod.

*

10) "As we grow older, it becomes difficult to just believe. It's not that we don't want to, but too much has happened that we just can't."

Now and Then. Yay, [livejournal.com profile] stardustgrl. Another that seems too true for me. It's very hard to hold on to the fresh-ness of being innocent. Said by Sam.

*

11) "We accept the reality of the world with which we are presented."

Truman Show. Yay, [livejournal.com profile] luminaux. Again... too true. There's always a whole other world outside the one you live in. It's very easy just to go with what you know and not question. A lot of people live their whole lives not knowing anything beyond their own backyards. Said by Christof.

*

12) "I like mass better in Latin. It's nicer when you don't know what they're saying."

While You Were Sleeping. Yay, [livejournal.com profile] qill13. Grandma Elsie says it at church. I've found this to be true about Catholicism in my personal experiences. Mass *IS* nicer in Latin.

I'm just guessing on #9. Sleepy Hollow? Haven't seen it in ages, but I *adore* Depp in that film.
