It was a pretty good day... considering how it all started. I am about to watch Lost then go to bed. Yes, I am home fairly late for even me. Wanna guess why?

I WATCHED SERENITY AT WORK TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love Joss. He's so my hero. We're still watching it on Saturday, people. It's my birthday gathering, and I feel like more Joss. I should take everyone I know separately like I tend to do with the HP films.

I think Joss likes to kill his characters almost as much as I do. He certainly likes to jack them up like I do. I cried a lot. I came away with more love for Mal than I ever thought possible. I still adore Jayne most of all though. He's my big ape-man gone wrong thing. Simon and Kaylee finally. I think I'm gonna see it a few times... even though parts of it broke my heart. Joss should write more. He should direct more. He should allow me to build a little alter at his feet. He just gets in my head. He pulls at my heartstrings. I adore him utterly.

He's just my hero.

It was an amazing movie. And seeing the ship on the big screen for the first time? Amazing. I shed a tear then. And many more later, of course. But Serenity is just so pretty.

Yeah, I was pretty happy to have the whole theatre to myself for shouting and squeeing purposes alone.

*is jealous*

=P

I read the spoilers [livejournal.com profile] clannadlvr posted on her LJ, so I'm prepared. Which is a good thing. I know now not to wear mascara on Saturday night, just in case.

I *almost* called you, but I didn't know if you wanted to brave the roads with the weather like it was, and we didn't start it until WAY late.

Yeah, I think the sadder parts are gonna be worse for anyone who has seen the show.

Tee hee. Thanks for thinking of me, though. Yeah, I wouldn't have come out. Not in that kind of downpour. Walking in the rain is one thing - driving is another. I'm not used to driving in the rain anymore. *shudder* Again, though - thanks for thinking of me.

Will be bracing myself between now and then so that I don't start bawling like a baby in front of people I've just met.

I didn't read the spoilers, but I wonder- how easy will the movie be to follow if you've never seen Firefly. I've not watched the show but we're going to go see the movie this weekend.

I thought Joss did a pretty good job of explaining where everybody was coming from. Sure, having seen the show helps a lot and certain things will mean more to you if you have seen it, but I don't think you'll be lost. There are a few minor things that might need some explaination to make you see the full picture of what happened, but like I said, I don't think you'll be lost without it. Not like with people who hadn't read Prisoner of Azkaban.

Yeah, that was a crock- PoA I mean. We went with someone who'd not read any HP, only seen the first two movies, and they were beyond lost. While there were some redeeming things about PoA on the whole I thought it was crap. Poorly rewritten crap. LIke a bad fanrewrite or something. J disliked it so much he got up and walked out about 4/5 of the way through. Said he couldn't stand to sit there and watch his favorite book murdered.

[though, Oldman as Sirius rocked]

That's why I tend to only watch the end of the movie. Especially when he and Snape are snarling at one another.

So I should avoid watching it tomorrow?

If you are planning to come with the group on Saturday, we are definitely going to see it. Though I may go watch it again tomorrow... being the ginormous Joss Whedon fangirl that I am. But if you'll be at my house on Saturday, that's the plan.
