I went job hunting today. Needless to say, I am not in a good mood. It did not go well. I can't stay at my job any longer. It's so ridiculous, but I can't quit until I find a new job. Lately, when I'm there I'm so friggin miserable that I want to put a pen in my eye. Plus I don't get paid enough to stay. Hospital bills are rolling in. I don't know what to do.

On the other hand, my writing's going really well. It's like one part of my life has to suck for another to be good. I really need to finish the last part of "Strange Bedfellows". I have the next part of "4th Corner" ready to go. It's a short part, but it's been so hard to write due to what happens in it. Torturing Madi and Josh always breaks my heart, but you have to. How boring would they be if everything always went ok for them?

I also went to the library. I found a book I have been meaning to read for the last year or so, so yay. Go me. "Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West". I'm very excited about it. It even has pictures in it. Heh heh heh.

On another note, I don't get the way some people leave reviews for me. I had a review at TtH that REALLY bugged the hell out of me for some reason. They didn't say anything bad, per se, but rated the part low. They left no reason why the rated it like that. Even said they were looking forward to the next part. *sigh* I really need to learn not to have the word 'why' in my vocabulary so much. So one person, well a few people actually, didn't like the latest part of Snake. I'll deal. I know it's not possible, but I just wish I just once I could post something and it would be good enough. I guess I'm taking this harder because of all the work I put into part 23. It took me a long time to make it all work out the way I wanted it to. It's the most effort I have put into a piece that was not original work in a very long time. I know I can't please everybody, but damn, you know? I think I got too many flames today. I need to just watch Angel then take a nap.

Quizzy...

I don't know about this. I don't know if it's exactly correct. Meh.
Canon Characters are the BEST type of characters
A Purist, you like doing stuff with the characters
you're used to. Besides, who's to say you
can't do creative stuff with original
characters? :)

...I got "purist" too (although I suspect that's pretty much true with me) but there were far too few questions, IMHO.

And as for the Angel character question...

Echo, these chapters have been excellent. I completly understand that some chapters are not going to please everyone, but if your happy with it, then that's really all that matters. Your true fans will read the alphabet if you wrote it! So please keep up the good work. And i hope you find your new job!

Echo, you can't please everyone. Shit, if I did, I would be married already, 2 kids, and teaching...so not me. But, I will let you know that I found the last part very intersting. I've never seen all of Angel or the last season of buffy, so I got confused. But, I reread it, understood it more, and laughed even harder. Now, I'm looking forward to how this crew of characters will go after voldermort this time. I know it will be intersting, b/c your imagination astounds me. So, I'm sending good thougts your way. Also, luck with the job search!

I soooo sympathize with the job/jobhunting situation. My job does not pay my bills, will not allow me to move (which I REALLY need to do, for the sake of my continued semi-sanity), and the overall working conditions are just .. remember the hell dimension from the Buffy episode 'Anne'?

However, I've discovered in the course of jobhunting that, for the type of work I do, I'm actually paid rather well to work in The Pit of Hell. Which leads me to the conclusion that I have no useful life skills that will actually feed me.

Didn't mean to go on a rant in your journal - just saying, you're not alone. At least one person out here REALLY understands. Best of luck to you in finding something better, saner, and more profitable.

pleasing people is not, i repeat, NOT what you should be worried about. you write beyond well, have more imagination than those who criticize you, and you kick ass in the insult department. use what skills we all know you have (especially the insult one) and nothing could go wrong. personally, i really enjoy all your work, and half the fun of reading it is in the waiting to see what happens next. let piss ants be piss ants, they scatter when the lights come up anyways.
