Uh.

I'm so tired. But on the upside I got to see a human heart beating on a sonogram monitor today. My mom's so tired and not full of any kind of energy, so I drove her to the heart specialist today to check out that fluid around her heart. It's not so bad. The doc gave her some pills. They're trying to clear it off that way first. If it hasn't worked by this time next week... it's a hospital stay to drain it off.

And my brother got some wacky and gross-looking spider bite on his neck. So gross. He's going to the doctor tomorrow. It just looks terrible. I think I'd have had a heart seizure if I looked in the mirror and saw that thing on my skin. And spider? Don't even get me started there.

So needless to say 2/3 of the house is out of commission, so I'm pretty tired from having to do, oh, everything. Though I did manage to finish Kim Harrison's "Dead Witch Walking" at the doctor's office today. I would like to get some writing done before bed tonight. *weighs* Hmmmm. More Empire of Dirt or something in a Draco drabble. Hmmm.

Oh. Like my Dean icon? He's the sexy. Watch Supernatural, folks. WATCH IT. And no, I have not watched tonight's episode yet because I had to cook dinner then wash the dishes. I taped it though, so if you reply to this part of this post with something spoilery, I'll come through the ether of the internet and eat your face. *smirk*

Cheers.

eta: My brother is a dumb sh*t. He's taken off in my mom's car. He has no driver's license. Man, I hope he gets stopped because they'll throw him right back in jail. He has warrants in GP still. I wish he'd never been bonded out. We're better off without him. It's sad that I think that, but that's how I feel. He doesn't help make things easier, so I have no use for him.

Uh, this is perhaps not the most useful of advice if your brother has taken off now, but whacky and gross-looking spider bites are often the sort of things that should not be left until the morning to see the doctor. They can abscess. And then you can get blood poisoning (I speak from experience here - though, I tried to lance mine myself and that may not have been the brightest notion and that may have lead to the blood poisoning. But still.)

Anyway, it sounds like your family really needs to catch a break sometime soon. I'll be thinking good thoughts in your direction.

It was all we could do to actually get him to agree to go to the doctor in the morning. Plus, he's not even here for me to scare him with the blood poinsoning thing.

Am sorry about the brother trouble. Stress you don't need. {{hugs}}

On a lighter subject, what'd you think of Dead Witch Walking? I have it and have tried reading it a couple of times, but I've never been able to get into the plot.

Tell me about, that snotty booger.

Dead Witch Walking. It wasn't the best read ever, but it was all right. It didn't get good to me until about 200 pages in. There was a lot of involved history to get through.

The books definitely get better - I think 'Dead Witch Walking' suffered from first book/introduce characters/must get the world info out syndrome.

Sounds like you've really got a full plate right now. I hate to say this for fear of sounding like an awful sister, but my brother is somewhat of a waste of space as well (eek!) Can't keep a steady job, doesn't know how to save money, continually gets speeding tickets that he doesn't pay, doesn't pay his bills, has a daughter with a bipolar cheating mother. He's lost his license a few times, spent a couple of nights in jail, and if not for the love of my parents it would have been more than a couple. The way things are going right now, he could very well end up back there. All I'm trying to say here, is I know what you're going through and hope things look up...as in, he figures shit out.

As for the book "Dead Witch Walking," it's probably the most boring out of the three available right now because she has to cover so much back story, but the next two really develop the characters, especially the newest one "Every Which Way But Dead." Keep plugging along, they're worth it. (Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series is really good too if you havn't read those yet...my personal fave ;)

Hope you and your mom feel much better in the coming week!

xoxo

Ugh. Sorry you're having a hard time of things, hon. Hope all goes well with your mom. Hope your brother gets put back in jail if its what you want, too.

I *adore* your icon. I have most of the Supernatural episodes downloaded and I plan to have my own mini-marathon sometime soon to watch them. Problem is - every single time I see Jensen Ackles now - I think Alec. I just can't think Dean, darn it. Nor can I think Jason on Smallville. He's just so... Alec. Then again, Alec and Dean both have that same...arrogant charm. *grin*

Yes, thinking I will be having that Supernatural mini-marathon sometime very soon. Welcome to join me whenever I do, of course.

Tomorrow night - GoF!!!!!!!!!!!! What time do I need to be over at your place by again? Can't seem to find the e-mail.
