School of Write updated

School of Write has been updated. New book recs, a new quote, new hanging.

I know I need to write. I owe drabbles and fic parts and all sorts of stuff. I just... can't seem to do it right now. Blocked, I guess. This hasn't happened to me in so long. There are no words right now. Might have something to do with the fact that the last few things I've posted have been met with lukewarm praise. Not my original stuff. That's being liked. But I never get as much feedback on my original work as I do on my fic. The last bits of fic I've posted... nothing really. I mean, I have my usual supporters, but... eh, I should stop whining and try to find some inspiration.

And talk of supporters reminds me of the jock strap conversation. Ball sweat over skid marks. You had to be there.

I'm sorry you feel blocked, Echo hun. I know the feeling all too well lately. Only my muse seems to have fled because reali life got too tough. I stopped replying to a lot of your posts because, in all honesty, I didn't know what to say without sounding like a sycophantic freak.

I adored Rough Spirits enough to read it 5 times and recommend it to several friends to read as well. And I'm waiting as patiently as I can for ComStar to put the anthology and Shadowside up for sale so I can get me copies of each. (Although, I must admit, after Christmas would be good for me - then I'll actually have money....)

In any case, I seem to have forgotten something very important - that I'm not the only person in the world who needs to know they're being heard sometimes. It's all well and good to write to get the demons out, but knowing that someone else sees them and appreciates the effort is amazing.

I know you don't know me very well, but I just wanted to say I really love the things you write, enough to have read much of it numerous times. You are VERY skilled, especially with your precise humor, and you always seem to communicate things eloquently.

I just wanted to let you know I definitely appreciate the things you write, and to say thanks for sharing.
