So I have this friend that I have known since childhood, since diapers. He's the son of one of my mom's best friends from high school. Chad. And tonight I have to give MAJOR points to Chad. He just saved the damn day around here. See, we always get together for the Hols, his family and mine and my mom's other best friend from high school's family. We do a little gift exchange, but Chad and I always get something for each other and exchange it without the others seeing. It's always been so. I usually only see Chad about once a year, this time of year, unless there's a Star Wars movie out. We've seen every single SW film in the theatres together... even though we were too young to remember seeing Episode 4 together. We were told. He's only a month older than me. We have a SW thing. He's my scruffy-looking nerf herder.

So now that we have the background on Chad, who I rarely talk about, who hasn't met most of my friends and I haven't met his friends because we're so jealous of sharing our time with others when we're together in the weirdest most antisocial of ways, Chad came over tonight. He was here when I got home from work. He's here NOW watching me type. Say "hi" Chad.

*Chad types* hi

Chad gave me lavendar bubble bath stuff and SW Epi III on DVD. Chad rules right now. I'd have to marry Chad (watch him blush) if he wasn't so "Chad". LOL. So I am going to take a bath while he fiddles around on my computer... after promising not to read anything in my original works folder or the fic folder because some of that would horrify him, then we are going to drink more REAL hot chocolate and watch SW. Yes, he's staying the night. It's nice to have a "brother" I *LIKE* around. I trade him for mine in a heartbeat if I could.

eta: Just went through my mail. [livejournal.com profile] tthjinni, [livejournal.com profile] carinthea, [livejournal.com profile] mama_terra, and [livejournal.com profile] dream_mancer, THANK YOU! Thank you all so much for the cards and such.

Terra, thank you for enclosing the picture. You have a lovely family. Your kids are so cute. I especially like a certain someone's little ponytails.

Laura! OMG! The mask is gorgeous. It's already hanging on my wall. And I'm wearing the blue scarfy right now. So fluffy. I love it!

I feel LOADS better now. Mail always cheers me.

Thank-you. And you're welcome. I know I love cool mail. It always brightens my day.

It's funny about those pigtails. It took 10 tries to get that picture because she was crying so much. Then the second the photographer said ok that's it, she (Samantha) tore the damn things right off her head. She *hates* having anything in her hair.

I'm glad the mask got to you safely and not broken. I traveled with that thing in my suitcase for two weeks and it didn't break (though my traveling with a 200 glass vase for three weeks sounds more impressive).

The story behind the mask: These were hand made in Venice, Italy, and the buyer gets to pick the mask, the colors, the glitter...everything. I picked the mask in honor of In Shadowside...because of the moon. The colors are (obviously--I hope) Slytherin colors, with a dash of black thrown in...and you can take that pun ANYWAY you want. LOL.

The scarf is cool. One of the girls on my hall loves to knit and stuff, so she made everyone scarfs and had a few left over. I have a red one.
