Texas Highway Commission, I hate you. Every road I tried to take last night to get home was blocked off or had some serious construction on it. What would normally have been a 30 minute drive from tthjinni's apartment in North Dallas took one hour and ten minutes. *GROWL* It made me seriously want to rethink going anywhere far to hang out or whatever on a night when I have to work the next day. It was just too much last night. I got home way too late. I knew it would be bad getting home around 10:30 or 10:45 and having to be here at 9, but I was sure I could manage. I didn't anticipate getting home at 11:30.

My thigh was on FIRE when I got home last night. Since I have pulled that muscle, I can not sit or stand or lay in one position for that long. Unless I am in my bed and even then I move a lot at night. It is getting better, but it's still tender.

Then when I get home I had to run to the ATM to get money out of one account to deposit in another. Then just as I am about to get in my "jim jams" to go to sleep, I get told by my mother to take my brother to work because she's too tired. Not ASKED... TOLD. And for the record, asking me to do something will get you a far more harmonious response than TELLING me to do something. For two whole seconds I actually considered responding with... "F you, his lack of a ride is NOT my problem. I am not his mama."

On the bright side, my cousin is in from Washington. I am excited about that because I haven't seen her in a few months, and I was used to seeing her once a week until she got married. I am missing jleary007's reading at Borders tonight to hang with Steph because she won't be back until Christmas probably. That makes me upset, but she really couldn't afford to make this trip. She just really wanted to see the fam. I hope Jase doesn't get funny about it, but it was gonna be a chore for me to get there anyhow with as late as I can leave here on Thursdays. orion777 did offer to give me a lift, but I don't want to make her late to the reading.

I feel like my friends are about to hate the shit out of me. I am about to go seriously underground until I get my stuff written. Seriously. We're supposed to see Xmen 3 on Saturday, and I might have to skip out. I am tired. I have loads to do, and I can't seem to get it done. Everyone seems to want to hang out, and I just can't right now, and it's making me VERY stressed. We'll see. I want to go see X3, but I have other stuff that needs doing before I can play. I also can't really afford the gas driving out to Dallas right now. I'm just very stressed out right now, and I don't know how to tell everyone to back off with biting their heads off right now, so I just smile and say nothing and seethe on the inside. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't need to work when I am at home, but my home life makes that next to impossible.

And to top all of this off, I have cramps.

Oh man, hon! I feel your pain on the traffic front. Traffic here in Baton Rouge has doubled, and we were already overloaded with traffic problems before Katrina. One of the New Orleans re-locatees told me, "I don't see how you guys get ANYhwhere. The traffic here is HORRIBLE."

I had to gently remind him WHY the traffic was so extra horrible.

Yes the drive sucks when its more than 30 minutes anywhere - cuz traffic is a big asshole. Anyways - you need to drop off the face of the earth for a while. You have stuff you need to get done and it's more important than hanging out. We will always be here no matter what, but your deadlines won't. No worries at all, getting your life together and working on your writing is your job! It's more important right now, especially if it is going to be how you make a living. We completely understand. I would just tell everyone that for a while not to call or invite you anywhere till you get your stuff taken care of. None of us is going to be hurt. That way when you have spare time you can call or hang out and not feel obligated to do it.

Don't stress- we love you whether we see you or not, and what kind of friends would we be if we didn't understand??

Anyways, glad you get to visit your cousin, don't worry about the reading thing, it's understandable, it's family from out of town and you don't get to see her anymore.

Hopefully your mom will start making your brother pull a little more freakin weight around the house.

Anyways, cheer up! We love you in all your snarky glory and completely understand.!!

Once again sorry about the sucky traffic!!! Also never feel bad if you can't hang. We are your friends and will completely understand that you need to get your own stuff done. We will miss you , but do what you have to do.

You should never worry about not being able to hang out with everyone else. We all know that you are busy and have deadlines and things to do. You will definitely be missed but it's understandable.
