a fandom icon falls?

There was a little blurb about this in the LJ of someone on my flist. I won't say who just in case they don't want any more drama about it tied to them, but I really think HP fans, especially D/G fans, especially D/G fans that have read a certain work by a very popular HP writer, should read this. It's wacky and wanky, to be sure, but ever-so enlightening.
WtF? Cassie Claire was a plagiarizer? Say it ain't so, Serpico!
Maybe the D/G fans shouldn't have bragged so hard about the lack of wank in our corner of the fandom. When I read stuff like this, I always wonder where the hell I'VE been in the fandom to miss it, you know? You decide what you believe. I'm not finished reading yet, so...
eta: It was pointed out to me the CC is more of a H/D shipper in her writing, so the D/G fans can start bragging again about the minimum of craziness and wank. LOL. I would like to say I have never read the Draco stories in question here because I have been told I'd hate the sh*t out of them by several people.
eta2: Still reading. We've been busy at work today, so I've actually had to mostly work and not surf the net or read today. I just have to ask, is it just me or does this make you want to read Pamela Dean's Secret Country Series? Or whatever it's called. There seems to be some confusion there. Anyhow, carrying on now.
eta3: Finished. With 20 minutes of actual work day left. Woo hoo! My brain hurts though.
DRACO/GINNY:
Our ship is crazy so our shippers don't have to be
I think I'll work on some fic tonight. *snicker*

Date: 2006-08-10 04:02 pm (UTC)And something tells me, with my knack for BTVS/Angel quotes, I would have been pretty darned pissed if I had read her stuff.
BTW (and totally off-topic): I was discussing this with a friend, and she mentioned reading HP/BTVS crosses. She informed me that she and her mother worship your stuff. So feel good. :)

Date: 2006-08-10 05:48 pm (UTC)I don't get it. I honestly don't get it. It's a miracle that the HP fandom hasn't caved in on itself with all the stupid little drama going on. I mean, yes the plagiarism was bad, and after it was pointed out to me by
It makes me paranoid...all the things that could go wrong in the future.

Date: 2006-08-10 07:31 pm (UTC)This past week, the Spuffy fandom had a kerfluffle of its own - in my opinion - a minor blip on the scale of kerfluffleness (yes, I made that word up). I re-read the CC stuff and the
Stay cool, Echo - I still

Date: 2006-08-10 09:41 pm (UTC)I, too, remember her being removed from ff.net, but I was just getting into HP then, so I really didn't pay that much attention. It was ALL OVER THE PLACE back then. So much so that a HP noob like myself noticed it.
I love fanfic. I love the fandoms I'm involved it, but crap like this just makes me question sometimes. It makes me glad I am not as heavily involved in fandom as I used to be. It makes me glad I never got as heavy-in as I could have. I think every fandom has had at least one major kerfuffle and if they haven't, the fandom hasn't been around long enough. They'll be one. I rememeber the big to-do in the Buffyverse when it was made known the there'd be canon Spuffy and canon Angel/Cordy. Some B/A shippers went all cracktastic about it. That's been a billion years ago in fandom time. LOL. But I do remember I quit writing B/A after that.

Thank you. Entertaining the readers is good. And I'm writing. I'm nearly always writing. Even when I'm not writing, I'm still writing. LOL.
