There was a little blurb about this in the LJ of someone on my flist. I won't say who just in case they don't want any more drama about it tied to them, but I really think HP fans, especially D/G fans, especially D/G fans that have read a certain work by a very popular HP writer, should read this. It's wacky and wanky, to be sure, but ever-so enlightening.

WtF? Cassie Claire was a plagiarizer? Say it ain't so, Serpico!

Maybe the D/G fans shouldn't have bragged so hard about the lack of wank in our corner of the fandom. When I read stuff like this, I always wonder where the hell I'VE been in the fandom to miss it, you know? You decide what you believe. I'm not finished reading yet, so...

eta: It was pointed out to me the CC is more of a H/D shipper in her writing, so the D/G fans can start bragging again about the minimum of craziness and wank. LOL. I would like to say I have never read the Draco stories in question here because I have been told I'd hate the sh*t out of them by several people.

eta2: Still reading. We've been busy at work today, so I've actually had to mostly work and not surf the net or read today. I just have to ask, is it just me or does this make you want to read Pamela Dean's Secret Country Series? Or whatever it's called. There seems to be some confusion there. Anyhow, carrying on now.

eta3: Finished. With 20 minutes of actual work day left. Woo hoo! My brain hurts though.

DRACO/GINNY:
Our ship is crazy so our shippers don't have to be

I think I'll work on some fic tonight. *snicker*

Eh, I don't count CC as being part of the D/G fandom. She's served as a catalyst, but she hangs out exclusively with her own crowd, and she's a lot more into H/D anyway, from what I understand.

Well, it's not like I'm the sole source and fount of wisdom and can declare people to be in or out of the D/G fen, that's just my opinion... Which lets me keep the "Yay, we're not so crazy!" warm fuzzies, so yay. ;)

I'd wear it. I think I need an icon that says that though. Hmmmm. Might have to bust one out when I get home tonight.

I have never read any of Cassandra Claire's stuff. People talked about it so much, that I was turned off to it.

And something tells me, with my knack for BTVS/Angel quotes, I would have been pretty darned pissed if I had read her stuff.

BTW (and totally off-topic): I was discussing this with a friend, and she mentioned reading HP/BTVS crosses. She informed me that she and her mother worship your stuff. So feel good. :)

I've never read it either. Mainly because several people told me I'd hate it. I have, however, read her LotR Very Secret Diaries. Those were funny.

I'd feel better if they liked my original work. *smirk*

She's waiting for money and/or the paperback. ;) Why she doesn't read the online stuff, I have no idea.

*opens mouth...and then shuts it* Shit. I'm an idiot! I thought it was only in HC! And so did she!

*Feels stupid* Sorry, Liz.

Pfft! No feelings of stupidity. ComStar's pretty little still. I don't think they can afford hardcovers yet. It's fine by me. I mostly buy my own stuff for reading in trade paperback. I mean, I have the HP books in both hardcover and paperback, but that's about it. Most of my stuff that I keep is in paperback.

Be wraned though, the thing is a pretty big paperback. You could use it for a doorstop, and considering a few of the negative reviews I've had for it, some people probably ARE using it as a doorstop.

Wow. Now I know why all of the Buffy/Angel dialogue seemed really familiar to me.
(I read the DT before I got into Buffy/Angel.)
Well, I wasn't too attached to it. *shrugs*

So I have been told. Repeatedly. Actually, people are very fond of using the sentence "You'd hate the shit out it." in reference to that series.

There's kind of this cheap characterization of Draco as a good guy because he loves Hermione for some reason.
Yeah, you'd hate the shit out of it.

Good holy hell. It's reading things like that that make me beyond thankful that my own experience in fandom has been pretty much wank free. The drama! OMG, the drama! ::shudders::

*throws hand up in the air*

I don't get it. I honestly don't get it. It's a miracle that the HP fandom hasn't caved in on itself with all the stupid little drama going on. I mean, yes the plagiarism was bad, and after it was pointed out to me by [livejournal.com profile] carinthea, I completely stopped reading, but it's just STUPID to blow something like this up! Only a few people should have been involved, instead of posting all over the world. *sighs*

It makes me paranoid...all the things that could go wrong in the future.

I've been a D/G fan for a long time, mainly a lurker - you, in fact, are one of my favorite authors. I remember when this all came out in 2001 or I should say when CC's stories were expunged and the whole kerfluffle (actually that's too nice of a word for it) happened. It's been interesting that it's being dregged up again.

This past week, the Spuffy fandom had a kerfluffle of its own - in my opinion - a minor blip on the scale of kerfluffleness (yes, I made that word up). I re-read the CC stuff and the [livejournal.com profile] msscribe stuff and thought to myself, "Well, at least here in Spuffyland, we haven't had anything on that grand of a scale." (caveat:: that I'm aware of)

Stay cool, Echo - I still stalklurk keep tabs on your work, still a HUGE fan of "Life of Brian" and "Chasing Amy" and the Dropverse. (Hell, let's be honest here...me love you your work long time! lol)

You're gonna make me blush.

I, too, remember her being removed from ff.net, but I was just getting into HP then, so I really didn't pay that much attention. It was ALL OVER THE PLACE back then. So much so that a HP noob like myself noticed it.

I love fanfic. I love the fandoms I'm involved it, but crap like this just makes me question sometimes. It makes me glad I am not as heavily involved in fandom as I used to be. It makes me glad I never got as heavy-in as I could have. I think every fandom has had at least one major kerfuffle and if they haven't, the fandom hasn't been around long enough. They'll be one. I rememeber the big to-do in the Buffyverse when it was made known the there'd be canon Spuffy and canon Angel/Cordy. Some B/A shippers went all cracktastic about it. That's been a billion years ago in fandom time. LOL. But I do remember I quit writing B/A after that.

I know! I've been reading it off and on all day at work. I don't want to, but at the same time... I'm captivated.

Thank you. Entertaining the readers is good. And I'm writing. I'm nearly always writing. Even when I'm not writing, I'm still writing. LOL.
