I liked it. I had a good time. Will have to see it again to form a better opinion.
*I liked things they did with Harry's nightmares visions. I liked how disjointed the cuts were.
*I loved the Order flying Harry to Grimmauld at night. Loved that. Very beautiful shots.
*I LOVED LUNA. She was made of awesome. Entirely. Her face when they were flying on the thestrals was awesome.
*SIRIUS! OMG, Gary Oldman, I love you. I want to have your babies. "Lots of sex and babies." Every time he winked or smirked, my panties near went up in flames. He's just lovely as Sirius and I am not wrong to adore him so. His death was not nearly as bad as I had been anticipating. DOn't even get me started on his pasty chest with the tats peeking out. I like scrawny pale guys. LOL.
*I wanted them to spend more time on Snape's worst memory.
*I am not sure if I liked Cho being the snitch and not Marietta.
*Not enough Draco, but we'll fix that in movie 6, ay?
*NEVILLE! Love you. Him coming into his own just so happens to the one of the most fantastic journey.
*GINNY! Rocks! Just plain old rocks. That spell she cast in the Dept of Ministries? Hell. Not dueling Ginny. Ever.
*Moody didn't say my favorite line about the wand and the buttocks.
*Bellatrix... HBC, you rock. That was exactly how I envisioned Bella in my head.
*I wanted to see Regulus on the family tree.
*McGonagall, I love you. She's so strong and good. I loved her comforting Trelawny.
*Grawp, hated the CGI, but loved him. He was adorable.
*I wanted a bit more Tonks.
*Filch running and trying to be sneaky! LOL!
*Fred and George... as always, I love you both. Their escape was lovely, but I wanted the POO firework.
There might be more when I see it again.
ETA:
*No St. Mungo's. I wanted to see Lockhart, but I'm not sure if I could have handled Neville with his mom. She was adorable. The Order photo with her in it... she was pixie cute.

Date: 2007-07-11 05:00 pm (UTC)I think Gary Oldman's just plain hot. Period. Ever seen "The Professional"? *drool* How was Imelda Staunton as Umbridge? Eww, Cho is the snitch? What is that all about? >:( Those are the kinds of plot switches that annoy fans. Why do filmmakers do them? Did they want to give her a bigger part?
Yes, we want more Draco - come on, movie 6! :D

Date: 2007-07-16 12:20 pm (UTC)She had this sort of condescending over the top cheerfull grin on her face through most of the movie. Makes me want to go down screenshots with a little thought bubble above her head "I hate all you bitchs. HATE!"
PS I have not read the book because I hated the concept of what happens to Harry

Date: 2007-07-12 04:23 am (UTC)I didn't care for Cho as the snitch but if they had to do it, would it have killed them to have her face say Snitch like Marietta's did in the book?! I was looking forward to seeing that!
When they revealed Cho as the snitch, a guy a few rows in front of us said "Well, why don't we just re-write the whole damn book" and got up and left! Yeah, there were changes in sequence and LOTS of cuts but nothing that would make me get up and leave!
Everyone around us was raving about "the kiss" as we were leaving but for me the best part of that was when Ron asked him how it was and Harry said wet. I about fell out of my chair. It was funny in the book but funnier in the movie.
I loved everything about Luna but her voice was what did it for me. She was just perfection.
All in all, I wish it were longer but I always wish that. Chris and I are heading out to see it at the I-Max weekend after next. I don't know if I'll actually be able to wait that long to see it though...

Date: 2007-07-16 12:26 pm (UTC)Reminded me a lot of the luna from Brown Coat Green Eyes (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2857962/1/)
And that guy walking out ? Deal with it dood ! That's what they do for all books that make it to the screen . At least this one wasn't such a cut up job as Xmen 3 or the last harry potter movie was. And this was the Director's first go at a HP movie ...not bad IMHO !

Date: 2007-07-12 01:42 pm (UTC)When the "wet" line was said, the entire theater exploded in laughter. Except maybe for the INFANT and the TODDLER. Honestly, who brings small small children to 9:40 pm showings of a movie that isn't really meant for them? I have kids and I'd never do that. /rant
I absolutely positively LOVED Luna. She is my new all time favorite. Whoever plays her did a fantastic job. Wonderful. Everything from the way she spoke, to the way she SKIPPED away from Harry to go get her pudding, was perfect.
The fireworks were cool. And I loved when Prof. Flitwick did his little "pump fist" move.
Draco was hot as usual, not nearly enough of him though. And I really wanted Ginny to give him the Bat-Bogey Hex. I loved the looks on George, Fred, and Ron's face when when she did the Reducto spell in the RoR.
I was sad that they didn't show/make Hermione, Ron, and Draco Prefects. And a little more of Percy being an ass would've been nice. And I kinda wanted to see the St. Mungo's scene.
Overall, I did like it and I might go see it again, this time with they hubby. Maybe even in IMax. It was worth watching and I'll most definitely buy it.

Date: 2007-07-17 05:02 am (UTC)Anyway, the action at the end was awesome, but the rest of the movie was a little boring to me.
I guess I should finally read the damn books or something.
