That wasn't even as bad as my accent can be either. When I get really pissed off... twang city. Yeah, I get that a lot from people I know online who hear me talk for the first time. "OMG, you have an accent!" Next time I'll have to post with my crappy Spanish accent or my fake British one just to keep people guessing.

Ass tea. Excellent. I can hear your accent in my head. Probably sounds a lot like my cousins from Tennessee. There's SOuthern then there's Texan. Texans have more of a drawl. Southern belle is sweeter than Texas gal.

Well, it was in Portland that the comment was made, although I kept getting asked about my accent in Bangor a lot. I loved the state though, and can't wait to go back.

Texas gal is better than TN hick, though (think Lucan Black, only worse). Considering it's the accent that I grew up around, it's kinda odd that I hate it so much.

I wasn't surprised by the accent. Oddly enough, I was surprised at how sweet you sound. You have such a strong presence in your writing that I expected your voice to be commanding. Instead, it's very sweet.

Yeah Benny calls that my "deceptively sweet" voice. Apparently when I'm pissed off is when I sound commanding. I also don't look as mean as I can be apparently.

And you have some of the BEST ideas. Seriously. I am totally for that. Now I want to choose a day and start thinking about fake accents. Will it be a reading from Pride and Prejudice in fake Brit, or something from Don Quixote in Spanish? Or perhaps I'll just do my Gary Oldman Dracula impersonation complete with accent. "I have crossed... oceans of time... to be with you..."

My Dracula isn't very good. It ends up sounding more like Chocula or the Count on Sesame Street. "One, two... Two! Two Livejournal users! Ah! Ah! Ah!"

Though, if it makes you feel any better, I'm having trouble selecting too.

I've got da yooper accent, dere. If you want ta know what I'm talkin' about, go and rent Fargo... And no, dat's not my partner in da tree chipper dere.

I've got the Irish accent, too. I've a passable Dub accent, which is what I've been usin' on Sammy. Even t'ough she's from County Kerry.

I can do Scotty, too, ye know. If he says he cannae do it Captain, he's nae got t' poooooooer! Though lately, my Scottish accent has a bit of Carson Beckett and more than a bit of the Nac Mac Feegles.

Since everyone else seems to be chiming in on your accent, here's my two cents: I think you sound sweet like Fred Burkle.

I'm from the Boston area originally, but moved to Orlando and now Buffalo. I've been fascinated by accents, dialects, and colloquialisms for years.
My mom loves country music so much that she named me Brenda Lee... that should give you some insight into my personality. My mom's accent is Southie just like Faith's. Mine is mild in comparison. I was more interested in British accents and proper pronunciation when I was a child. I pronounce my R's and words ending in -ing. My aunts, sadly, do not.

Lately, it seems that the further away from my hometown I go, the more likely I am to fall back on the Southie accent. My mom's boyfriend was from Galvaston, so I am used to hearing a low, soft drawl. So, pretty much, my voice is tempered by Midwest newscasters, half-Apache Texans, and Boston Harbor gals.

I'm of the opinion that it is pretty awesome that you have and accent :) It didn't jump out and surprise me and I think I may have even flailed/squeed a little bit. Why the woo! accent!? Well, being from the West Coast, Seattle, WA, specifically, we have absolutely NO accents to speak of. We speak newscaster. *sigh*

But...I guess there's a little bit, of, well, a vocabulary difference in California that's kind of leaked all up and down the coast. We say "like" a lot and "hella" was HUGE in Cali for the longest time. *hangs head* So, we fail at cool accents, but we've totally got valley girl down pat.

So, YAY! for voiceposts! and I'm kinda, well, a lot excited about the rpg pimpings that will soon be going up! woo!

Agreeing with everyone else when I say that your voice is much sweeter than I imagined it would be. You actually sound a lot like my best friend's sister, which is kind of odd and really not as pictured(for lack of better word). As for the Texan accent, I'm so used to hearing it (from my own mouth, nonetheless) that I didn't even really register a difference. Strange.

I'm going to go with what everyone has said so far and agree that the accent caught me off guard. Strange, considering I knew you were Texan, but it's kinda cool. Always did love accents (and have an appalling habit of picking up random ones from TV and talking to people, even though I've never been to that place) so right now my accent is a weird mix of fake TV American (I suppose Californian?), Malaysian, British and South African. And yes, you do sound incredibly sweet and Fred-ish. Although one thing I've got to note is that you sound much younger than I expected. *grin*
