I've had a pretty good start to my nanowrimo this year. I am working on the ending to "The Fourth Corner". Yes, you read that correctly. I figure about 50 K in words ought to wrap it up. I had to scrap the original ending, so that's what I am writing. From chapter 20 on was completely scrapped. With the way the rewrites went, the ending has gone in a totally different direction, but that happens sometimes. However, before I started the ending for nano, the rewritten first 2/3's of it weighed in at 119,852 words. I can do this shit!

I believe I also mentioned that I am attempting to do nablopomo, hence these posts when I usually don't blog anymore. 30 posts in 30 days. It will be the most action this LJ has seen in YEARS. But I will also be tweeting about nanowrimo and posting word count updates to my Liz Ashe the Writer facebook page. Yes, that's what it's called. Shut up, and go like the page. :P

3463 / 50000 words. 7% done!

119k. Dood. You're so prolific. Like, seriously. I wish I could write as fast.

(Which just reminds me of the days when we wrote on RPG's together and how in awe I was of how fast you wrote and how you could come up with awesome plots seemingly on the fly. You're still my inspiration for plotting and dialogue. I studied the way you wrote, and how you wove ideas together, to try and learn the skills since they don't come naturally to me. So. For what that's worth. XD)

Good job so far on NaNo! I know you'll make it!

Wow. Thank you. High praise. Me = fat head.

I studied Joss Whedon on dialogue. That man changed the way I talk even in normal life. As for plot, that just happens sometimes. You're plugging along and all of a sudden... I SHOULD DO THIS!

My head is so full of stories that they're tripping over themselves to get out. I fear the day if/when the words are no longer brimming in my brain. I hope it never happens. I hope I am always able to tell new tales until I die.

I think I've always written quickly, but everything I did from that first fic post to the RPGs to the published books has been a learning experience that has made me a stronger writer. So for what it's worth, you've been a part of my journey.

I love Joss' dialogue and story telling too. I definitely pay attention to his work as well.

You don't over think your plot turns and that's something I've tried to take away from writing with you. I would not write at all getting stuck on all the little details. Now I just go with it a bit more. It isn't as if you can't go back and make sure the details are all wrapped up later.

It's worth a lot! I respect all y'all so much. I still think it was amazeballs I had the chance to learn to write with so many good writers around me. Writing can be a very solitary sport, but I think there's something to be said for having it be social every now and again.

Anyway. Rooting you on for NaNo :D Go Go Go!
