19. What about fandom drives you crazy sometimes?

As a fic writer what bugged me was people who felt totally justified in harassing you until you put a new chapter out. Like I don't have an actual life and all I do is sit at the computer writing fic all day.

I also never got ship wars. I'm credited with saying this about D/G in the HP fandom "Our ship is crazy so our shippers down't have to be". All the crap between the Harry/Hermione shippers and the Ron/Hermione shippers was very irritating.

Also, Cassie Claire. If you don't know what I am talking about, google it. Google Cassie Claire fandom wank. That should get it. I never got involved in any of the Cassie Claire wank, but even reading about it irritates me. She irritates me. Probably as much if not more than Stephanie Meyer. Not because she has bad ideas or writes poorly (all supposedly lifted things aside), but because she's a self-important c*** about it, and I realize that calling her a self-important c*** could call down the sockpuppet thunder, but I kind of don't care. It's my OPINION that she's been a D-bag about stuff, and that she will continue to be a D-bag about stuff. This is a good thing to read on that by alli6 on Tumblr. It has links to everything you need to know about CC and includes some more recent wanky events: "And that concludes our little history lesson, and I think the main point I’m trying to make is that it’s cool to like her work but don’t be a blind stan because Cassandra Clare is kind of a shitty douchebag who has done a lot of shitty douchebag things."

Still, I only thought the HP fandom was crazy until the SPN fandom came along. Don't even get me started there.

I refuse to read Claire. Or watch the movie. I was not part of the fuckery, but even reading it makes me say HELL NO.

I always tried to avoid all the in-fighting and just write. When all that went down with CC I had my own problems - I was writing A Drop in the Ocean. The fic of mine that I both love and hate.

That's the one. It's the fic that built most of my fanbase, but damn, is going back and reading that cringe-worthy for me. I've grown so much as a writer since then.

I read parts of it aloud to Nora, while in line, and I could see the fangirls around be bristling. It was awesome.
