First! New archive for Narcissa-centric fic. Managed by me and hosted by [livejournal.com profile] jennie_wls. Thanks again, Jen. Please join and upload your NM fics.

Yes, this means I am running the Tourn site and yahoo list now as well. Jasper wants to concentrate more on the cc list. She's still around in a modding capacity though. She still adores Cissa, and we are still working on part 2 of Siren Song. It should be ready for posting soon.

Second... I'm being translated into Russian. F-ing RUSSIAN! The world is a whacked out crazy place today. My fic has been translated into Spanish, French, German... and now Russian. This is sorta beyond me, you know?

In fic news (third)... Instead of finishing part 2 of The Not-so-dark Mark this weekend, I will be working on part 3 of Eternal Sunshine of the Slytherin Mind. I will also do my 20 minute Giles fic. Might do that later tonight as I pretty much have the house to myself. I've gotten heavily involved in my new original Little Achilles though. I had no idea how fascinating researching lycanthropy could be. Sometimes I love research. And I do believe I have started writing the most interesting character I've ever created. I also wrote part of the long-awaited wedding scene for 4th Corner. I just need to get the next chapter up, so I can get to the wedding chapter. The archive for my original fic is up. It isn't completely up to date yet. I'm working on getting it up tonight though. It can be found here...

I'll change the link at School of Write tonight as well. I'm still working on the GC archive, but those fics are so hard to locate. That was when I was first writing and didn't have a system that was even remotely organized worked out. Not that I'm all together now, but I was really disorganized when I started working.

Number four, I watched The Village last night. I have mixed feelings on it. It was typical M. Night to me. Slow start, unexpected ending... except I sorta expected parts of the end this time. I won't spoil it for anyone by talking.

How about Palm Reader format? I've done that with several fanfics (yours included) so I can take them with me when I travel.

Um.... what are you talking about?

Palm formatting fics

Palm books are text converted to a nice ebook format for viewing on a Palm Pilot of any variety. It means I can read any text on I tend to use Weasel Reader (http://gutenpalm.sourceforge.net/) to convert text to e-books. I have a Perl script to nick whole stories from FF.net, and once I have a few spare minutes I'll probably muck with it to make it work for tthfanfic.com.

Advantages:

  1. Can view any text content on it.
  2. Searching
  3. Annotation
  4. Always starts up right where you left off, much harder to lose your bookmark.
  5. Nice backlight makes reading in bed nice when other people are trying to snooze.
  6. Can carry a bunch of books with you easily.
  7. Bejeweled plays on the Palm also. Heh.

Disadvantages:

  1. Need to fiddle with techno-wonkery.
  2. Display really needs a higher resolution
  3. Has batteries

If you're not interested in fiddling with the various widgets, I wouldn't mind converting your completed Fics to Palm packages and sending them to you.

If you wish to do this for your own benefit, that's fine, but I have no use for my own fics converted to this format. I don't have a palm pilot and likely never will. I don't read my own fics... unless I'm writing a new part and need to refresh myself.

Well, I could do Norwegian if you're interested. (Probably mostly so you could tell people you've been translated to Norwegian, too.)

Sure, just tell me which one you want translated. It won't be a bother.

Well, since you'll be doing it, you get to choose.

Oh wow. Go you! *is in awe*
I feel a reason for celebration, here. And you're still writing like mad. *is impressed, and wonders how you do it*

I write like most people breathe, like people drink or eat. If I don't, I feel like something's missing. It's the thing I was meant to do with myself in this life.

Wow... I know some russian but I'm not sure I could translate fic into it. That is so... wow. Egad.

Well, I do believe this person's first language is Russian, and English is second. I suppose that makes it easier.

Ah yes, the Shadowside books. They are a good peice of work, may I just say. Have been a fan for awhile (although I see Madi and Brenna's looks switched. Madi's always looked like Alicia Witt to me.)

Can't wait to see what Little Achilles turns out to be.

I have nothing to do with any of that. In fact, I make it a point not to look at the Dream Cast on Who So Ever because I don't want it to influence my writing the characters.

Interesting, interesting. I might try that with my writing. I'm a very visual person, so I usually try to find someone to base a character's look off of.

Which might explain why I want to make everyone look like Sarah Michelle Gellar. o.O

Good luck writing.

It's not the first time I've dabbled with the wolves. My first novel In Shadowside has a fair amount of lycanthropy in it, despite the fact that it mostly deals with witchcraft and vampirism.

But Little Achilles is about the wolves... among other things.
